El Phantasmo is back.
In October, NJPW announced that El Phantasmo was taking an indefinite leave of absence due to a health concern. Phantasmo then stated that doctors had found a small tumor, and he vowed to return stronger than ever, though the timeline for his comeback was unclear.
At the NJPW Road to Tokyo Dome event on December 22, El Phantasmo made a surprise appearance after NJPW World TV Champion Ren Narita's match. He took the fight to HOUSE OF TORTURE and, with the help of Jado's translation, he told the crowd that he was cleared to return. Phantasmo said that he would be in action at NJPW's Korakuen Hall event on December 23, and he would be entering the NJPW World TV Championship match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19.

NJPW's official website noted that Phantasmo had fully recovered.
At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19, Ren Narita is set to defend the NJPW World TV Championship against Ryohei Oiwa and Jeff Cobb.
