Kofi Kingston Confirms Xavier Woods Is Dealing With Injuries, Says He's Getting Better

Fans haven't seen New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) wrestle on television since the December 20 (taped on December 14) episode of NXT when they defend their NXT Tag Team Championships against Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs.

According to PWInsider, Woods has been dealing with injuries and that's the reason they have been kept out of the ring.

Speaking to Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Kingston confirmed Woods is banged up.

Kingston said Woods is “getting better and better every week” and they are utilizing this time to get him back to being 100 percent. “We are able to progress our storyline and let him rest and recover. He’ll be good in no time. He’s made a lot of progress already."

Woods did take part in a six-man tag team bout at a WWE live event on December 27, but hasn't wrestled since.

New Day is scheduled to defend their NXT Tag Team Championships against Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) and Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) at NXT Vengeance Day.
