Konosuke Takeshita Gets An Elite T-Shirt, Matt Jackson Calls Him An Honorary Member Of The Group

Konosuke Takeshita is an honorary member of The Elite.

For a number of weeks, The Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) have been feuding with the Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson, and Wheeler Yuta). The bitter rivalry has continued to escalate, and the BCC briefly put Omega and the Young Bucks out with some vicious attacks. On the April 19 episode of AEW Dynamite, The Elite got some reinforcements when Don Callis brought out Konosuke Takeshita, who saved Omega and the Young Bucks from another beat-down by the Blackpool Combat Club. The quartet stood tall together, suggesting that Takeshita had joined forces with The Elite.

On the newest episode of Being The Elite, Don Callis commented on Takeshita's actions and recalled how he had been recruiting Konosuke back in January, and his efforts finally paid off. Callis told Takeshita that he had something big for him, and he delivered.

Don Callis: “I told you. Did I tell you? I said I had a plan. Remember in LA, I’m recruiting him, and you guys are asking, ‘Where are you, Don?’ I was right there. [To Takeshita] Remember you were going to go back to Japan, I promised you something big. You are in the dressing room with the greatest tag team of the last 1,000 years in the Young Bucks and the God of Pro Wrestling. What’s better than this? Am I right?

Matt Jackson asked Kenny Omega to tell Takeshita that they appreciated his help, seemingly thinking that Omega would speak to Konosuke in his native language. Instead, Omega, who seemed distracted and less than thrilled with the situation, briefly thanked him in a non-convincing manner.

Matt Jackson: “Can you tell him for me, Thank you so much, Takeshita, for having our backs out there. It means a lot. Can you tell him?

Kenny Omega: Yeah, thanks Takeshita.

Konosuke Takeshita: Thank you.

Matt to turned to Michael Nakazawa and asked him to convey their gratitude to Takeshita. He did as Matt asked, but Matt wasn't satisfied. He wanted to give Takeshita something, and Callis suggested that he could have an Elite t-shirt. Omega questioned the idea, noting that it was a little quick, but the Young Bucks made it clear that Takeshita had earned it.

MJ: Nak, can you please tell him that we really appreciate him having our backs tonight.

Michael Nakazawa: Basically, they appreciated what you did for them tonight.

KT: No problem, dude.

MJ: anyway, we got something for this kid right?

DC: A special shirt?

KO: That’s a little quick, don’t you think?

MJ: No, why doesn’t he come dress with us a little bit?

NJ: He saved the day tonight

MJ: Hey, you’re invited. You can come hang out with The Elite, buddy. You’re graduating.

Takeshita then put the shirt on, and both Nick and Callis were impressed. Omega was seemingly lost in his thoughts and he started to say he had something else in mind before he opted to go along with the situation.

NJ: It looks good on him Kenny, look at him.

DC: it looks good. Like a Greek god, this guy. It’s very impressive.

KO: I always thought that… you know what, yeah, it’s great.

DC: it’s great, I love it. The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Takeshita.

Later in the show, Nick and Matt Jackson were by themselves, and the duo stated that they were feeling good, both physically and mentally, following their brawl with the Blackpool Combat Club and Takeshita's

NJ: I’m feeling good. I’m feeling whole for the first time in a while.

MJ: I feel really good too, like I’m not even injured. I was blasting off, throwing suplexes.

NJ: My shoulder feels good. I was doing dives like it was a real match.

MJ: I never thought coming to Pittsburgh we would be leaving with a new honorary member of The Elite. How about Takeshita coming in and stepping up?

Omega and Takeshita will team up on the April 26 episode of AEW Dynamite. Check out the card here. Fightful will have live coverage of the show as it airs on Wednesday.
