Konosuke Takeshita issues a major challenge for NJPW Windy City Riot.
After successfully retaining the NEVER Openweight Title over KUSHIDA at NJPW Battle in the Valley, Konosuke Takeshita got on the microphone and challenged Hiroshi Tanahashi to a match on April 11 at NJPW Windy City Riot. As Tanahashi is looking to retire on January 4, 2026 at the 20th Wrestle Kingdom event, it has already been announced that Windy City Riot would play host to Tanahashi's final match in the United States of America.
Takeshita says he wants to be Tanahashi's final Stateside opponent and prove that the end of "The Ace" will give way to the rise of "The Alpha."
