The stipulations for the first round of matches to crown the first KOPW 2020 titleholder have been revealed.
NJPW held fan voting for the three matches that have been different stipulations and after days of voting, here are the results:
Kazuchika Okada (1 vs. 3 Handicap Match) vs. Yujiro Takahashi (Lumberjack With Leather Belt):
Okada: 56%
Yujiro: 44%
Toru Yano (2 Count Pinfalls) vs. BUSHI (5 Count Ringouts):
Yano: 57.2%
BUSHI: 42.8%
Satoshi Kojima (Finishers Only) vs El Desperado (No Finishers Allowed):
Desperado: 68.5%
Kojima: 31.5%
Below are the KOPW first round matches, taking place at Korakuen Hall on August 26:
* 1 vs. 3 Handicap Match: Kazuchika Okada vs. Yujiro Takahashi, Gedo & Jado
* 2 Count Pinfalls: Toru Yano vs. BUSHI
* No Finishers Allowed: Satoshi Kojima vs. El Desperado
* Submission Match: SHO vs. SANADA
The winners of all four matches will then face off against each other for the inaugural KOPW title at Summer Struggle in Jingu, taking place on August 29.
