Kurt Angle has nothing but praise for Christian Cage.
Speaking on the latest episode of his Kurt Angle Show podcast (via AdFreeShows), the WWE Hall of Famer was asked about his longtime friend and former WWE/TNA colleague, saying that he believes Christian is underrated and underappreciated.
"Every once in a while we touch base. He's such a good guy. We were best friends, you know, Edge, Christian, myself, and Rhyno. We really were best friends. We spent a lot of time together and that time was so valuable. I'll never forget what he did for me. What he did for the business. Christian is one of the most underrated professional wrestlers of all time. This guy should actually already be in the Hall of Fame. That's how good he was and, I don't know, I mean, I think someday he will be. I just think that he's been underappreciated," Angle said.
Many of his contemporaries have lauded Christian's ability to put together matches and elevate any and every situation. Angle concurred, going as far as saying that Christian could have been one of the best ever.
"He could have very well been the best professional wrestler of all time," Angle exclaimed. "That's how good he was. He was creative putting the matches together. His timing was impeccable. He was one of the absolute best I've ever worked with."
Now signed with All Elite Wrestling, Christian Cage currently holds the IMPACT World Championship. He won the title from Kenny Omega on the debut episode of AEW Rampage on Friday, August 13, 2021. Cage and Omega are set to do battle again at All Out on September 5th for the AEW World Championship.
