Kurt Angle: Daniel Bryan Was My #2 Dream Opponent Behind Bret Hart

Kurt Angle wishes he could've wrestled Bryan Danielson.

Kurt Angle and Bryan Danielson are two of the most prolific technical wrestlers in the history of professional wrestling. Both men have experienced the highs of headlining WrestleMania and the lows of having to give up the career that they love due to injury. Unfortunately, a match between the two never happened but Kurt Angle has now stated that Bryan Danielson is very high on his list of dream opponents, right behind Bret Hart.

Averno Announced For MLW Kings Of Colosseum

Angle spoke about Bryan Danielson during the most recent episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, where he recapped the events leading up to WWE Survivor Series 2017, a time when Bryan Danielson, then known as Daniel Bryan, and Kurt Angle were the respective general managers of WWE Raw and SmackDown.

"Oh, yeah. Daniel Bryan, he's one of my top three wrestlers that I wish I would have been able to face before I retired. You know, Bret Hart is one of them. Daniel Bryan's the other. [As for another dream opponent], I'm leaving it open because there are so many other great talents. He's actually my top two. He's actually the second person behind Bret Hart that I always wanted to wrestle, but never could," Angle said.

The only time both men wherever in the same wrestling match was during the 2018 Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia where they were both participants and Bryan got the opportunity to test his mettle against a variety of opponents shortly after being cleared to compete once again.

Today, Bryan Danielson wrestles for All Elite Wrestling and before they signed Danielson, there was an offer made to Kurt Angle to come in and wrestle 10 matches for the promotion but Kurt Angle had a steep asking price. Learn more here.
