Kurt Angle Thinks John Cena's Heel Turn Was' A Great Idea', Believes Cena Will Be Bigger Than Before

Kurt Angle is a fan of John Cena's heel turn.

Last month at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, John Cena would shockingly turn heel on Cody Rhodes, setting up their WWE Championship bout at WrestleMania 41. Many wrestlers past and preset have commented on the turn, now including old rival of Cena's, Kurt Angle.

While speaking to Sportskeeda's Bill Apter in a new interview, Angle spoke about the turn, calling it 'a great idea'.

"It was brilliant," Angle said. "John has been out of the mix for a while, and I know he's doing his retirement tour and it's gonna be about a year, so he's got a lot of time to do it. So, I think that him turning heel was a great idea because now the fans can cheer him on as he eventually makes his way back to babyface. It's gonna happen."

Angle continued, noting that sometimes talent becomes even bigger after turning back babyface following a heel turn.

"When you turn heel and then you turn back baby, you can become even bigger, so I think that's what they were thinking with John was, 'Let's make him bigger than he was before,' which is really hard to do, but eventually it's gonna happen and I think it's a brilliant idea."

Elsewhere in the same interview, Kurt reflected on the iconic 'You Suck' chants he received in WWE. You can read more about that here.
