Kurt Angle: WWE Should Have Signed AJ Styles 10 Years Ago

AJ Styles finally arrived in WWE in 2016, making a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble. Before his time in WWE, Styles became one of the top stars outside of the company through his work with ROH, TNA/IMPACT, and NJPW. In IMPACT, Styles had many wars with Kurt Angle.

And speaking to Sportskeeda, Angle revealed that he wished WWE had signed Styles a decade ago.

"Oh, I think WWE should have brought him in ten years ago. Unfortunately, they didn't but they got him. AJ's still going strong. I'd say he's every bit as good as he was ten years ago so I just hope his career continues on and he can give us a few more years. He's been doing this for a while, for over 20 years. He was an amateur wrestler before. AJ is one of the best in the company, if not the best in the world, and he's been that guy for eight years now - so he's had a lot of success," he said.

At this time ten years ago, Styles was 32 years old and TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Despite getting a later start in WWE, Styles has found plenty of success in the company as a two-time WWE Champion and three-time WWE United States Champion.

Styles is currently sidelined with a separated shoulder.
