Lee Moriarty gives his thoughts on his AEW journey after wrestling Adam Copeland on the January 13 episode of AEW Saturday Collision.
Lee Moriarty is the latest name to step up and answer Adam Copeland's open challenge. Despite losing to the WWE Hall of Famer on January 13, Moriarty made yet another impressive showing for himself in the ring with a former WWE Champion. In the past, Moriarty has also squared off with Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Katsuyori Shibata, and more.
Reflecting on his loss in a digital exclusive, Moriarty said that he's learned throughout his time in AEW that if you become too patient, you become too complacent. Then, you run the risk of being forgotten.
"Growing up in Pittsburgh, my parents raised me on a lot of morals. One thing I heard over, and over, and over again was, 'Patience is a virtue.' When I came to AEW, I learned that the more patient you are, the more complacent you become, and when you're too complacent, you become forgotten. You might not remember who I am, but I'll remind you. I'm the guy that pushed Bryan Danielson. I'm the guy that pushed Katsuyori Shibata. I'm the guy that pushed Keith Lee, and tonight busted shoulder or not. I'm the guy that pushed Adam Copeland. Like Shane [Taylor] said, we are done being patient. We are done waiting for respect. We're just gonna take it."
Copeland is continuing his journey toward another match for the TNT championship against his childhood best friend Christian Cage. Cage will have to step up and answer the challenge of Dustin Rhodes on the next episode of AEW Dynamite. Learn more here.
