Lio Rush & YOH will battle Ace Austin & Chris Bey in the finals of the NJPW Super Junior Tag League final. The bout will take place on Wednesday, December 14. The winner will move on to challenge for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles, which are currently held by Catch 2/2 (TJP and Francesco Akira), at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.
Rush & YOH, Austin & Bey, Alex Zayne & El Lindaman, BUSHI & Titan, TJP & Francesco Akira all entered the final night of round robin action on December 10 with a 6-2 record and 12 points.
Zayne & Lindaman lost to Yoshinobu Kanemaru & DOUKI while YOH & Rush defeated BUSHI & Titan and Austin & Bey defeated TJP & Akira. YOH & Rush and Bey & Austin finished with seven wins and 14 points, setting up the final showdown between the two teams.
