WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Liv Morgan is okay with a polarizing response from the fans because garnering a reaction in the first place is the goal.
Morgan has been getting a polarizing response, especially since she retained the title in a controversial manner against Ronda Rousey at WWE SummerSlam. She still has plenty of fans, but she has been facing some detractors as well.
Speaking with Metro, Morgan commented on these mixed reactions and noted that she hasn't taken it personally. She stated that, at the end of the day, performers just want to get a reaction.
"It’s ok! I understand the reaction in a weird way, so I didn’t take it personally, necessarily. The funny thing is, in wrestling, in WWE, all you want is a reaction. So, even though it maybe wasn’t the desired reaction, it’s still polarising. As long as we’re getting a reaction, I’m ok! And I’m still champion, so I’m more than OK," Morgan said.
Morgan made it clear that she's okay with the polarizing response, given that John Cena himself famously dealt with a similar challenge.
"He’s the best of the best, who’s considered the ultimate babyface, went through years and years and years of “Let’s go Cena, Cena sucks”. So, if that’s how I’m treated, I will be ok with that," she said.
Morgan it set to defend her title against Ronda Rousey at WWE Extreme Rules. More information is available here.
