On the January 8 episode of WWE Raw, Ludwig Kaiser went viral after decking Kofi Kingston in the face with a chair from the commentary desk. Many fans were quick to point out the similarities between this spot and a famous spot between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman from an episode of Raw in 2017.

After this spot, Kaiser took things even further and kicked Kingston's head into the steel steps at ringside.

Kaiser seemingly launched this vicious attack against Kingston after the events that took place on the January 1 episode of Raw, where Giovanni Vinci was injured at the hands of Kingston during a tag team bout.
Update: WWE later announced that Kingston was being evaluated by WWE medical staff in the aftermath of the assault.
