Lyra Valkyria says WWE's women's division is in a good spot.
WWE's women's division continues to grow; in 2024, WWE introduced the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship and the Women's United States Championship. These marked the latest steps forward in a journey that has seen women main-event WrestleMania and continue to earn more opportunities.
Speaking with Tim Battle on the Battleground Podcast, Lyra Valkyria was asked about the growth of WWE's women's division and the way it had been breaking barriers.
“Yeah, 100%. I think around the time where the ‘Give Divas a Chance’ era was exploding, we’ve gone from that to having the Four Horsewomen to having a change in how women are portrayed on WWE, all-women’s pay-per-views, women main-eventing WrestleMania, and to the point where that really needed the focus, now we’re at the point where it’s normal. It’s just normal, we’re very equal, and I think that’s an amazing place to be right now. I feel like women’s wrestling is just wrestling, and we’re at the best point we possibly can on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. But yeah, I’m always gonna want more time, more platforms, more women’s opportunities, but I think we’re in a very good spot right now," Valkyria said.
