Lyra Valkyria defied the odds at NXT Vengeance Day.
At NXT Vengeance Day, Lyra Valkyria defended the NXT Women's Championship against Roxanne Perez, who was looking to capture the gold for the second time. They were evenly matched in the opening minutes, and the match was a stalemate early on. The two stars went back and forth, and Perez was seemingly on the verge of victory when Lola Vice charged down the ramp, as she was cashing in the title shot she earned by winning the Women's Breakout Tournament.
Vice took control as she dished out stiff kicks and locked her opponents in submission holds. She nearly scored the win with a choke-hold on Perez, but Valkyria broke it up. Perez rallied and gained the upper hand. All three competitors kept battling, and again Perez nearly scored the win when she hit Pop Rox on Valkyria. But Tatum Paxley entered the ring and took Perez out. Valkyria then slammed Vice to score the win.
