Madison Rayne comments on her injury and her hope to return soon.
Rayne signed with AEW as a coach in August 2022, and she has also wrestled for the company on many occasions, both at AEW and ROH shows. She last competed at an ROH taping on April 7. In June, Tony Khan stated that Rayne has been sidelined with a foot injury.
During a virtual signing with East Coast Autograph Auctions, Rayne confirmed that she was been out of action due to a broken foot.
“My most recent Ring of Honor match, fun fact about this photo, this was moments before I broke my foot, which is why I’ve been out of commission for the last three months. But fingers crossed, I’ll be back in the ring soon," Rayne said.
When one user wrote that they wanted to see Rayne compete at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium, Rayne stated that she is doing everything she can to make it back to the ring in time for the show. She also noted that she missed taking trips to the United Kingdom.
"You guys, I want Madison at Wembley. I’m doing everything I can to get myself cleared to be back in the ring before Wembley. I miss those trips to the UK. I miss the fans over there," she said.
Rayne was also asked about her status with AEW. She emphasized that she is still with the company, and she has been working in a variety of roles. She stated that she loves her job, and she's hopeful that she will be cleared to return to the ring in the next few weeks.
"I am still in AEW. I am recovering from injury that I sustained back in April. Hopefully, I will be cleared soon to get back in the ring. But yes, in the meantime, I am still coaching, I am still doing several things backstage, growing into new positions within the company, loving every second of it. Love my job, love where I am in my career right now, and fingers crossed, within the next few weeks, I will be cleared to get back in the ring," Rayne said.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Rayne will return to the ring. Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.
