Mariah May remains the AEW Women's World Champion.
On a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Willow Nightingale defeated Jamie Hayter, Saraya and Nyla Rose to earn her shot at the AEW Women's World Championship. Since then, her and Mariah May have gotten physical repeatedly in the build up to their bout at AEW WrestleDream, including Mariah striking Willow with her championship.
Mariah would take control early in the match at the PPV, with Willow fighting back with an early pounce before Mariah resumed control of the matchup, but the TBS Champion remained defiant throughout the matchup, with a figure four locked in on the right knee that Willlow had targeted earlier in the matchup, with Nightingale hitting the corner canonball shortly after before a missed moonsault turned the titde once again.
In the closing stages of the match, Mariah would hit a top rope hurricanarana, followed by her step in knee and capped her final flurry off with a Storm Zero to the challenger to keep her down for the three count to retain the AEW Women's World Title.
