AEW stars have competed in the the NJPW G1 Climax in the past with Konosuke Takeshita and Eddie Kingston representing AEW in previous years.
Mark Briscoe has competed in both AEW Continental Classic tournament, but the G1 might not work with his schedule.
Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Briscoe was asked about a potential G1 appearance.
“The G1, I’d be all in on that, it’s just the requirements don’t really fit right now,” said Briscoe. “I’d have to be in Japan for about a month’s time. With eight kids at home, that’s not in the cards right now. Believe me, it would be a pleasure and an honor. But being away that long would be tough, especially because they’re changing so much every day."
Briscoe is currently teaming with Private Party (Zay & Quen) on AEW television.
He was seen consoling Private Party after they lost the AEW Tag Team Titles to the Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) on AEW Dynamite.
