Masato Tanaka responds to Stevie Richards.
On his YouTube channel, Stevie Richards recently analyzed the match between Masato Tanaka and Mike Awesome from ECW One Night Stand 2005. As seen in the video embedded above, Richards is very critical of Awesome's and Tanaka's decisions during their matches, criticizing Awesome's psychology, or lack thereof, in his opinion.
Richards would go so far as to ask what kind of standalone moments, they ever created in their matches and say that he feels bad because, although they made their mark, there are no unforgettable moments created by Awesome and Tanaka in his opinion.
"This is where for everything Mike Awesome could do, athletically and physically, he had zero psychology. His psychology sucked. This is like eating your ice cream first before the main course. It makes no sense, and that's what makes me feel bad because they made their mark here, but what memorable moments did Mike Awesome and Tanaka ever create?
Tanaka responded to these comments on X, saying he always had fun working with Mike Awesome and credited their work with his ability to still work in the United States.
I don't care what anyone thinks. The match with Mike was hard, but it was fun. Because of that, I can still step into the USA ring. bwo I love it. https://t.co/MLNiMjZtIZ
