Mascara Dorada wins gold.
At the 12/15/2023 edition of CMLL Viernes Espectacular, Mascara Dorada (formerly known as Panterita del Ring Jr) challenged Rocky Romero for the CMLL World Historic Welterweight Championship, a rematch from their matches on MLW One Shot & the CMLL Leyeda de Plata Final from earlier in the year.
After an intense match between the two wrestlers, Dorada managed to once again beat Romero to become the new CMLL World Historic Welterweight Champion. Romero held the belt for 329 days, bringing the gold to CMLL, MLW, NJPW & AEW television during his reign.
This is Dorada's second title reign ever, with him previously holding the CMLL National Lightweight Championship as Panterita del Ring Jr, which he held for over 529 days before vacating the championship on May 2023.
