This summer, Matt Cardona entered into a feud with GCW's Nick Gage, attacked him at the promotion's Zombie Walk show. After weeks of social media banter, it was announced that they would face off at Homecoming with Gage's title on the line. On that night, Rickey Shane Page's interference helped Cardona win the belt in a gruesome deathmatch. Though he would drop the title to Jon Moxley a couple months later, Cardona has since given himself the nickname of 'Deathmatch King.'
