Were you expecting Matt Cardona to be surprised by John Cena's heel turn? Are you serious, bro?
While John Cena's heel turn on Cody Rhodes at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 shocked a generation of fans and some in attendance in Toronto, one person who Cena has burned in the past isn't at all perplexed by this move.
Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder in WWE, caught John Cena making out with his love interest, Eve Torres, on WWE TV in 2012. To make matters worse, at the time, Zack Ryder was confined to a wheelchair and in a neck brace. His agony would only continue as Kane used Ryder to try to get Cena to embrace the hate.
It took 13 years, but John finally embraced the hate, and Matt Cardona was not surprised.

John Cena didn't comment on his actions after WWE Elimination Chamber. He simply dropped the mic.
