Matt Cardona was inspired by his wife.
Matt Cardona took to Twitter/X on June 17 and posted a picture of himself wearing the mask that his wife, Chelsea Green, wore when she interfered in Piper Niven's mask against Bayley at WWE Clash at the Castle. In the post, he wrote that he figured out how to return too WWE.

Cardona previously had a lengthy run as Zack Ryder in WWE. He won the WWE Intercontinental Championship and the United States Championship, and he also held the RAW Tag Team Championship. WWE released him in a wave of cuts in 2020. Since then, Cardona has wrestled for GCW, NWA, TNA, and he had a brief run in AEW. He has also been active on the independent scene.
