Matt Cardona Jokingly Says He Thinks He's Getting Released From GCW

Matt Cardona apologizes to the GCW Universe.

Cardona took to Twitter on August 9 and wrote that he thinks he's getting released from Game Changer Wrestling. He stated that Brett Lauderdale won't respond to his creative pitches. Cardona then apologized to the GCW Universe. Throughout Cardona's GCW run, he has often poked fun at WWE in a variety of ways, and that may have been his intent here.

Cardona is a former GCW World Champion, as he memorably defeated Nick Gage in a Death Match to win the title at GCW Homecoming 2021. He has frequently competed for the company ever since. During his time with GCW, Cardona has feuded with Joey Janela, among other stars.

As of this writing, Cardona is set to compete at GCW Homecoming 2023; he and Steph De Lander will face Maki Death Kill (Nick Gage and Maki Itoh). Cardona has stated that he must finish the story at the show.
