Matt Cardona wouldn't be nervous if he had to go face-to-face with The Rock.
Since his WWE release in 2020, Matt Cardona has reinvented himself on the independent scene. He has won titles in GCW, NWA, and TNA. Fans have often speculated about his potential WWE return, but it hasn't happened yet.
Matt Cardona shared a clip on Twitter/X in which he explained why he cuts promos before his matches on the independent scene. He stated that he wanted to get better on the mic, and he stated that he had grown. He said that if he had to have a promo segment with The Rock on WWE Raw, he wouldn't be nervous. In the post, Cardona wrote that he did not know if he would get the chance, but he was ready.
"I always cut a promo before my matches on the indies. When I was in WWE, I could probably count on two hands how many times I had a real promo. For someone like me, I pretty much had to get everything on the script right, and I knew when I became Matt Cardona, I needed to work on talking. Being a heel, it’s so much easier to just grab the mic and cut a promo. These promoters aren’t gonna fucking yell at me. I always come out first, and I always cut a promo. Sometimes, it’s great, sometimes it’s not so great. Sometimes it suck’s, but that’s how you learn. That’s how you grow, and now, this is gonna sound ridiculous, but if I was on Raw Monday and had to go face-to-face with The Rock, I would be confident and comfortable. Not saying I’d be as good as The Rock, that’s not what I’m saying, but I wouldn’t be nervous," Cardona said.
If you’re not growing, you’re dying…
