Matt Cardona made his return to TNA Wrestling on the January 23rd episode of TNA iMPACT! live.
Cardona was announced as the first challenger for the Joe Hendry and the TNA World Championship. He received his title match in the main event of the show.
Hendry said he would be willing to defend his TNA World Title any time against anyone from any promotion.

Cardona had not wrestled in TNA since TNA Bound For Glory when he lost to PCO in a Monster's Ball match.
Hendry won the TNA World Title in the main event of TNA Genesis, defeating Nic Nemeth.
