Matt Cardona Teases He Needs To Win One More Title In WWE Before He Retires

Matt Cardona has his sights set on more gold.

WWE released the former Zack Ryder in 2020, ending his lengthy run with the company; he had worked there since he signed a developmental contract in 2006. He memorably rose to stardom in 2011, as his "Z! True Long Island Story" YouTube show elevated him to new heights of popularity, as he won the WWE United States Championship. However, this time in the spotlight ultimately didn't last long, though he had a few surges in subsequent years. Ryder won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMana 31 and the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35.

Following his release, Cardona reinvented himself and became a buzzworthy star on the open market. He has won the GCW World Championship, the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, and the IMPACT Digital Media Championship, among other accolades, in his post-WWE journey. Given this successful run, fans have speculated about Cardona potentially to WWE. This discussion has ramped up in recent months, as several former WWE stars have come back to the company since Triple H became the head of creative in July.

On November 18, Cardona answered some fan questions on Twitter. When asked which title championship like to hold before he retires, Cardona responded by posting an image that showed his title wins in WWE, along with the text "Just one more" under them and a picture of a middle finger.

Cardona recently commented on potentially returning to WWE. Check out his comments here.
