Matt Hardy comments on the possibility of Edge & Christian ever doing another match with The Hardy Boyz.
Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy made history several times between 1999 and 2001 in matches with Edge & Christian. When Adam Copeland arrived in AEW at AEW WrestleDream 2023, there was a moment where all four men were again working for the same promotion. Unfortunately, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage were immediate enemies as Cage turned down Copeland's request for a reunion. Unfortunately for fans hoping to see another tag team clash between these legendary duos, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy are no longer with AEW.
Speaking about the potential of a match between The Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian, Matt Hardy would say on his podcast that there was a small window in time where the match could have happened and didn't, but Hardy would also say that it's professional wrestling, and anything is possible.
“I mean, it is what it is. There was a window of time where we could have done something. I don’t even know if it had to be the last match," said Hardy on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast. "I think if you would have ended up doing something where you get all four of us on the same page or some sort of cause or whatever. I just think the nostalgia behind that would’ve been a big deal. We could have ultimately got down to doing one last match. I don’t know. It’s pro wrestling and I have no idea what is next for anyone, so just never say never. It would have been nice to be able to capitalize on our history together and do something together, but who knows. Who knows what the future holds.”
Matt Hardy recently said he and Jeff Hardy would like to end their careers in WWE. Read his comments here.
