Matt Hardy Comments On How Much Longer He Intends To Wrestle

Matt Hardy wants to go until the wheels fall off.

Matt Hardy and his brother Jeff Hardy are two of the most innovative wrestlers of their generation. However, that innovation has come with a physical toll that both brothers pay daily. Still, they continue to wrestle to this day and are the current TNA Wrestling World Tag Team Champions.

During a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Hardy commented on how much longer he intends to compete in the squared circle.

"I just think I'm just gonna ride the spiral till it ends. I'm just gonna ride the spiral till it ends. I think in the past I have, I'm just gonna see how I feel and just roll with it. I try not to think too far ahead. I try not to overwhelm myself. I'm more of a day-by-day person. I just try and get through every single day and make it as good as possible."

When asked if he believes that he and his brother will finish their wrestling careers together, Hardy confirmed that he is a lifer in the wrestling industry and will continue to work in the business once he's done as a wrestler. He also offered some insight as to what he believes his brother will do once he is done in the ring.

"I would imagine it would probably go out that way. We came in that way. We would probably go out that way. Then for Jeff, I could see him, he'll end up being an artist, living in Cameron or whatever he's doing. I think I'm a lifer in the business. I'll be working somewhere as a producer or an agent or creative or whatever else, just because I'm so passionate about pro wrestling. I think once I stop being an in-ring performer, I will still contribute."

Rey Mysterio, another innovative legend of the 2000s, recently quipped that he would allow the fans to dictate when he retires. Learn more about that here.
