Matt Hardy Goes In-Depth About Him & Jeff's Surprise Return At WrestleMania 33

The "Woken One" dives in to The Hardy Boyz' return to WWE.

Right before the RAW Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 33 began, what many fans regard as one of the biggest crowd reactions in WrestleMania history occurred. The New Day made an appearance and revealed that there would be a fourth team joining the Triple-Threat tag team action. It would soon be revealed that the fourth team was a returning Matt & Jeff Hardy, who had just competed in a Ladder match against The Young Bucks the night before at ROH Supercard Of Honor XI.

Speaking with SkySports, the former ECW Champion Matt Hardy would relieve that historic night in Orlando.

"It was quite overwhelming and quite flattering to be honest with you. It was quite incredible because it had truly been kept a secret up to that point. We had literally just arrived at the building right before we were due to walk down the ramp to the ring and the adrenaline of being snuck into the building and going up to gorilla and then walking down that ramp was very, very special." Hardy continued, "To get that incredible ovation and see that sea of humanity, all of those people, was one of the top moments of my career."

As mentioned above, Matt & Jeff had lost their ROH World Tag Team Championships the night before to The Young Bucks. It seemed impossible that they could appear in another company the very next night. Little did the wrestling world know, all who were aware of the situation was just good at keeping secrets.

"Anything is difficult to keep a secret in this day and age, as far as professional wrestling goes," added Hardy. "Access to information is insane today. You can't tell anyone anything if you want something to be kept a secret these days. There was only a very small circle of people who knew and we really worked hard to make it a special moment and a true surprise."

The former seven-time WWE Tag Team Champions came from behind the curtain to a thunderous reaction. From the fans going insane to Michael Cole's "Oh my" on commentary, it made for an exciting moment for both The Hardyz and wrestling fans all over.

"It was extremely humbling and it certainly ranks up there as one of the loudest crowd reactions I've ever heard, but it was very special too because we knew we were then going to show the WWE fans all of the things we'd been doing while we had been away."

It was recently reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet that Jeff Hardy has been cleared to return to in-ring action by his surgeon. Jeff is currently awaiting clearance from the WWE to come back, but while that is sorting itself out, his brother has been putting together an 'Ultimate Deletion' match, which can be read more into by clicking here.
