Matt Hardy and his wife, Reby, took to Twitter this week in response to a report that Impact Wrestling filed trademarks for the "Broken" Matt Hardy gimmick and the entire "Broken" universe before the Hardys did.
PW Insider first reported the news about Impact's trademark filing, which the promotion claims was filed in January even though the paperwork says April.
The Hardys tweeted the following:
Reby Hardy, who has embarked on a couple of extended rants on Twitter against Impact since her husband and his brother, Jeff Hardy, left Impact, tweeted out a follow-up on Tuesday:
Matt Hardy blasted Impact President Ed Nordholm in another tweet on Sunday.
While rights to the "Broken" gimmick remain in dispute, Matt Hardy has been showing more and more of that persona in his appearances for WWE's Raw brand in recent weeks.
