An update on the contract statuses of the Hardy Boys.
Despite not appearing on WWE television since last summer, Matt Hardy has remained active on social media. Hardy recently posted a throwback photo of himself holding gold from other companies. He captioned the photo "I’ve always felt comfortable outside of the @WWE."
A fan on Twitter commented, believing Hardy was making a "thinly-veiled passive-aggressive threat to leave" the company. Hardy clarified his tweet and also revealed that his contract with WWE expires on Mar. 5, which Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp had reported back in January.
Not a threat at all, just a fact. I have 11 days left on my current deal. I love @WWE, but I’m 100% comfortable being outside the walls of pro wrestling’s "Alexandria" Safe-Zone. I’m a born SURVIVALIST.

My previous tweet will NEVAH face DELETION.
Fightful was also told that Jeff's contract was up at the same time, but that a tentative agreement was in place to continue working together beyond the deal.
Matt last wrestled on Sept. 15, 2018 at a live event in Texas. He has teased retirement during his time away, but recently stated he is not retired and has no plans on retiring anytime soon. Jeff continues to be a featured player on WWE SmackDown Live.
