Matthew McConaughey revealed that he was a big wrestling fan growing up. Appearing on The Graham Norton Show alongside John Cena, McConaughey reminisced about Texas wrestling, bringing up Hacksaw Jim Duggan, King Kong Bundy, and Kerry Von Erich as the wrestlers he used to watch.
McConaughey went on to say, “I got kicked out Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport for pelting Skandor Akbar with a bag of tomatoes from the eighth row.”
Cena and McConaughey explained to the audience the gimmicks of Skandor Akbar, King Kong Bundy, and the Missing Link before continuing to mark out over the old days. Cena showed his disappointment over using his real name as his wrestling name while talking about characters with the names Skandor Akbar and Missing Link. McConaughey joked, "But he's got this" followed by making the You Can't See Me hand gesture.
