Maven talks about why pro wrestlers shouldn't take championship wins too seriously.
In his latest YouTube video, former WWE Superstar Maven once again discusses the do's and don'ts of wrestling locker rooms during his time in the business. On the topic of boasting in real life about championship victories, Maven explained why he never had to be told not to brag about his WWE Hardcore Championship victory over Undertaker in 2002.
Maven would bluntly say that he knew he didn't deserve the championship, and having an ego that would allow him to gloat about such an accomplishment never even crossed his mind.
"When I won the Hardcore Title off The Undertaker. I didn't beat Mark Calaway; I didn't beat The Undertaker for real to become the champion. I didn't deserve that championship, man. Yhere was a writing team, there was people that went to 'Taker, there were people that had to say, 'Yeah, give the kid the rub. Give him the opportunity.' So I didn't have to be told, 'Yeah, keep your ego in check.' Nah, it's just no."
Maven previously discussed plans to put the WWE Intercontinental Championship on him in 2005. However, he felt he wasn't ready for a title even then. Learn more here.
