Listen. Yo. Listen. The Acclaimed, top of the chain.
The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) always have one of the most talked about entrances in wrestling as Caster rips on opponents with his raps and Bowens flexes on them.
Speaking to Brandon Walker on Rasslin, Caster gave insight into how he puts his raps together, even if he only has a couple of hours to prepare for his opponents.
"That's my job. I have to do it. There's nothing else for me to do. When we find out we have a match, of course I'm stretching and getting ready, the most important thing is I have a little bit of time by myself and really think about how to take apart our opponents. I've gotten Jungle Boy so much, that I had to come out with a new line for Jungle Boy. I said, 'this guy probably doesn't have pubes, I'll say that.' That line worked, it was pretty good. I always do have time to come up with it. i do have a document, just in case we wrestle this guy, I have some things on deck. I like being current and like current events, politics, and anything we can do to work that in, without getting me and Anthony in trouble, that's the true skill that I have. Saying these things that are horrible, but making them funny for everybody," he said.
Caster has gotten in trouble for his raps in the past as he was pulled off television in August 2021 when he mentioned Simone Biles and Duke Lacrosse. After initially airing, the rap was edited off AEW Dark and Tony Kahn said it should have never aired.
When asked who are the hardest opponents to write for, Caster said, "At this point, it's the Dark Order, because we've wrestled them so many times. I've gotten them in every single angle I can get them in. 'These guys are dumb, this guy wears a wig. There is the Dark Order but no dark people in your group.' I've exhausted the Dark Order so much that every time we wrestle them on Elevation or something, me and Anthony look at each other like, 'here we go again, have to think of something completely new for Dark Order.' Everyone else is fair game. I love being able to rip on legends. When I got Christian, that was a real popular one for me. Bryan Danielson, I said, 'Bowens arms are bigger than your legs,' and the camera zooms out to show his legs. beautiful TV moments that we make every single week."
While Caster grabs headlines with his raps, Bowens has his role as well to generate some buzz.
"I'm hyping up Platinum Max, the hottest rapper in professional wrestling. I have to make sure I'm always buff and I'm keeping the crowd going. Outside of being the hype man, I'm always the human meme generator, I'm trying to make crazy faces that people can screen shot and post all over social media. I have a lot going on while he's spitting his bars," said Bowens.
When asked if he helps Caster with any of the bars, Bowens replied, "I trust him to come up with all the creative stuff, he's the writer. I'll scan through Twitter and find some trending events and toss them his way, then he goes to work. That's about it."
The Acclaimed challenged Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) for the AEW World Tag Team Championships on the March 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, but were unsuccessful in their quest for gold.
Still, everyone loves The Acclaimed.
