Jane Castor, the Mayor of Tampa, and Tampa city officials will meet on Thursday, Mar. 12 to discuss canceling or postponing major events.
The report comes from Ryan Bass of CBS Tampa.
WrestleMania 36 is expected to be part of the discussion. The event is scheduled for Apr. 5 in Tampa. Along with WrestleMania 36, WWE is scheduled to hold a week's worth of events in Tampa including the 2020 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, WWE SmackDown, NXT TakeOver: Tampa, and WWE Raw.
The discussion comes in light of the coronavirus outbreak, which has caused other major events to be canceled or postponed.
The SXSW film and music festival in Austin, which was scheduled for Mar. 13 through Mar. 22 was canceled. Meanwhile, the Coachella music festival, which was scheduled for Apr. 10 through Apr. 12 and Apr. 17 through Apr. 19 in Indio, has been postponed until October.
Other states have started to implement a "no spectators" policy where fans are encouraged not to or not allowed to attend public or private gatherings of over 1,000 people.
