Former WWE Divas Champion Melina Perez's WWE career was a stellar one, but maybe not full of memories she looks back on fondly.
The five-time champion said that her confident demeanor didn't necessarily reflect how she felt traveling with the company.
"I talk to people now, and they thought I was so confident. I was doing all this awesome stuff onstage, and they didn't realize I was going through so much loneliness and hurt backstage. It was like high school," Melina told Huffington Post.
Despite that, Melina is happy with how the character was portrayed. However, outside of the ring, she couldn't say the same.
"I'm proud of that character, then and now, because it was just a character – and she was great at being a bitch – but when it came to my personal life, it felt like everyone around me thought that's who I was. I just felt so invisible," said Melina.
