Michael Cole has some fun with the controversy.
WWE 2K24's Pat McAfee DLC pack has been the source of some controversy, as fans have criticized how the crew from the Pat McAfee Show is being added to the game instead of talent who are on the WWE roster. The pack includes McAfee, Boston Connor, Ty Schmit, Darius Butler, and AJ Hawk,
NXT's Karmen Petrovic responded to a clip of the crew poking fun at people being upset and calling NXT superstars "losers." She noted that some fans wanted to play with wrestlers in a wrestling game.

Michael Cole then took to Twitter/X on July 29th and shared a picture of McAfee and Bobby Roode, who were standing together backstage. Cole noted that McAfee said the two of them were NXT legends. He then joked that he could not believe that McAfee and his "dumb group of friends" were in WWE 2K24.
