Michael Elgin was a part of New Japan Pro-Wrestling for five years until he departed from the company earlier this year. Elgin's contract with New Japan expired on March 31st and he made the decision not to re-sign. During IMPACT Wrestling's recent broadcasts, it has been brought up by IMPACT co-Executive Vice President and commentator Don Callis that Elgin departed from Japan due to him no longer wanting to wait on opportunities.
As mentioned, Michael Elgin will be challenging Brian Cage for the IMPACT World Championship at Slammiversary and to get a look at the match card for that show, click here.
