Mick Foley No Longer Employed By WWE

Mick Foley's latest stint with WWE is officially finished.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported recently that Foley is no longer employed by the company. During his stint as Raw general manager, which ended last month, Foley was working without a contract.

Kurt Angle replaced Foley as the Raw general manager this past Monday.

The Observer also reported that Foley intended to skip all WWE-sanctioned events during WrestleMania weekend, but that Stephanie McMahon successfully persuaded Foley to attend. The Observer noted that Foley is due for hip replacement surgery on April 19.

Foley has had multiple stints with WWE--one as a full-time wrestler, which ended in early 2000; and several separate stints in an authority figure role. He also spent a few months in 2008 as the color commentator for Smackdown.

Foley's latest WWE run as an authority figure began in June, when he was named the Raw general manager in the lead-up to the revival of the brand split and WWE draft. He also appeared in a reality show on the WWE Network, "Holy Foley", which, although it was a "wacky family" show, primarily focused on his daughter, Noelle, and her training as an aspiring pro wrestler.
