Mickie James is stepping aside.
On Thursday's IMPACT, Mickie James announced that she was not cleared to compete at IMPACT Rebellion. As a result, James will relinquish the IMPACT Knockouts Championship allowing Jordynne Grace and Deonna Purrazzo to compete for the vacant championship.
James, who is dealing with a rib injury, said that it was the right thing for her to do and she thanked everyone for giving her a Last Rodeo so she could prove herself, but she is no longer 20 years old and things hurt a little bit more.
James left her hat and the Knockouts Championship in the ring.
.@MickieJames will not be cleared to compete at #Rebellion. A NEW Knockouts World Champion will be crowned THIS SUNDAY in Toronto!

James was scheduled to face Jordynne Grace at IMPACT Sacrifice, but she suffered a rib injury and could not defend her title. Grace would move on to IMPACT Rebellion to face Deonna Purrazzo, who won a four-way bout against Masha Slamovich, Gisele Shaw, and Miyu Yamashita at IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United in a singles bout if James wasn't cleared.
If James was cleared, the match would have been a triple threat.
