"Speedball" Mike Bailey made his AEW debut on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, defeating The Beast Mortos in the AEW International Title Eliminator Tournament.
Bailey finished off Mortos with a tornado kick, switching up from his usual Ultimate Weapon finish.
"I've thought about it a lot, I've been practicing that move. I felt I needed something quicker, something more direct, something that requires a less specific setup than 'The Ultimate Weapon'. And during the whole time I was off, I was in Canada getting my visa renewed between December and March and I spent a lot of time there several hours every week in the IWS dojo, which is a wrestling school in Montreal training and teaching there, and I've been working on that kick extremely hard every chance I get for the last three months," Bailey told SP3 of Sports Illustrated.
As for a name for the finish, Bailey said, "And I call it, name reveal right here, 'Time Adventure.' Which is a reference to the final episode of what is one of the greatest TV shows of all time, 'Adventure Time.'"
Fightful Select reported in November that Bailey was expected to join AEW after his TNA contract was up. In February, Fightful Select noted, "We're told the delay in his debut was related to visa related issues, which we're told are in the approval process."
Bailey will compete in the four-way finals of the AEW International Title Eliminator Tournament on the March 19th episode of AEW Dynamite.
