Mike Rotunda, Trish Stratus, Jim Ross Named As 2022 George Tragos/Lou Thesz Hall of Fame Honorees

Three legends will be honored in the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Hall of Fame.

Trish Stratus, Jim Ross, and Mike Rotunda, are already Bonafide WWE Legends and two of them are in the WWE Hall of Fame but now, they will be honored in another Hall of Fame, the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Hall of Fame.

Greg Oliver of SlamWrestling reports that Trish Stratus will be receiving the Lou Thesz Award. She was initially slated to get this award in 2020 but the ceremony was canceled because of the pandemic. This year, she was unable to attend due to travel restrictions due to the pandemic.

This Year's ceremony introduced the first-ever Gordon Solie Award, honoring excellence in pro wrestling announcing. The first honor was given to the award's namesake, Gordon Solie and in 2022, it will be awarded to Jim Ross.

The first actual inductee into the Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame is Mike Rotunda. Mike has been a champion in every promotion he has wrestled in, having successful runs in WWE and WCW during and prior to the national expansion.

Mike was in the first WrestleMania as part of the tag team championship match and he would later defend those titles 8 years later against Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake while teaming with Ted DiBiase.Ironically, Mike is the only one of these three honorees that is yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and the only one officially going into this year's Hall of Fame.

The award ceremony will take place between July 21 - July 23 in 2022. The event will be held in Waterloo, Iowa the birthplace of the NWA. Learn more here.
