The BOOM is the vibe.
Adam Cole debuted in AEW at All Out 2021 and within weeks, his theme song All About Tha (Boom) was number 1 on the iTunes metal charts. Mikey Rukus, the man behind all AEW themes is now speaking about the formation of Adam Cole’s new in a one-on-one interview with Jon Alba.
Discussing the formation of the theme, Mikey would say that he was lucky enough to encapsulate a vibe.
“Yeah, it was a good time, that whole entire weekend was an adventure. I had actually finished Adam Cole’s song the week, the week of like, maybe the day before I flew out. I remember he and I were exchanging a couple of text messages. I was talking to Tony about it. I knew we had to I had no idea it was gonna take off the way it did. I had no idea whatsoever. All of a sudden, it just became like this thing and then the catchphrase, and then you know, and then number one on iTunes, and I was like, ‘What is happening here?’ You know, it just, we encapsulated a vibe, and it just it worked everything kind of just rolled together.”
Speaking about being number one on iTunes, Adam Cole said, in a video that covered the making of the song, that it meant the world to him to be featured at the top of charts with names like Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne.
“Insane, beating Metallica, Ozzy, like the most iconic metal bands of all time. There's a very good chance that quite a few people who have downloaded the song maybe don't follow my career very closely, or maybe they don't follow AEW yet. But the fact that they heard this song, [and said], ‘This song sounds really cool. I want to play this in my car. Man. I want to play this while I work out.’ It's one of the coolest things I've been a part of. It's one of the most exciting things I've been a part of and I'm just happy everyone loved the song as much as I do is so freaking cool.”
During a recent appearance on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Adam Cole discussed getting the timing of the entrance perfect. Learn more here.
