On July 1, Missa Kate announced that she was a free agent, as she effectively let the National Wrestling Alliance. She noted that the past two years had been unforgettable and stated that plenty of people had helped her along the way.

In another post, Kate wrote that she was not going to share a sappy message, so instead, she stated that she was forever appreciative of the endless moments, memories, and lessons made along the way. Kate thanked NWA and said it was time to get weird.

Kate previously made her NWA debut at NWA Hard Times 2. She signed with NWA in December 2022. During her time with the company, she won the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship with Madi Wrenkowski. She last appeared for NWA at their Powerrr tapings on January 14, 2024. Kate has continued to wrestle on the independent scene since then.
Between 2021 and 2022, Missa Kate competed in six matches in AEW on Dark and Elevation.
