Mixed Tag Team Match Announced For IMPACT Slammiversary 2021

IMPACT Slammiversary is shaping up to be a hot mess.

Last week (July 8, 2021), Matt Cardona returned to IMPACT after being out of action with an orbital bone injury suffered at the hands of Brian Myers. After The Most Professional Wrestler lost to Jake Something, he and Sam Beale attacked Something, which brought out Cardona.

Tonight, Myers was searching for backup ahead of his in-ring segment with Jake, in which he had to tell him that he is a professional. He eventually found someone who he believed had a bone to pick with Cardona. When things broke down between the four men, Tenille Dashwood appeared out of nowhere and hit Cardona with a low blow.

Backstage, Scott D'Amore approached Cardona and asked if he could find a partner for Slammiversary to take on Myers and his ex-girlfriend. Cardona stated the date of the event, July 17, and said that he thinks he knows someone. D'Amore then walked away but not before saying that Slammiversary is going to be a hot mess.

Cardona's fiancee, Chelsea Green, was released by WWE on April 15 and recently made a surprise appearance at ROH Best in the World. She is also a former IMPACT talent, competing as The Hot Mess Laurel Van Ness. It's worth reiterating, however, that Green has not been announced for the match.

Fightful will have coverage of IMPACT Slammiversary this Saturday, July 17, beginning at 4 p.m. PST.
