The Miz Credits John Cena For Teaching Him How To Become A Main Event Superstar

It's been a long journey for The Miz, who has gone from MTV reality star to one of the biggest crossover stars in WWE today. The Miz broke into WWE through Tough Enough, and though he wasn't accepted by his peers at first, he eventually earned their respect through hard work. As far as what elevated him to the next level, Miz credits another crossover superstar for getting him there.

"John Cena," Miz told Hot 94.1 when ask which superstar he's learned the most from. "Being in the ring with John Cena taught me how to become a main event caliber superstar."

Miz headlined WrestleMania 27, defeating John Cena to retain the WWE Championship.

Miz was also asked about flipping the WWE logo upside down to make it The Miz logo and how he came up with the idea.

"I was trying to find a new way to be disrespectful because I was a bad guy at the time. What's more disrespectful than messing up the beloved trademark of WWE? The way I looked at it was, WWE is all about the Miz and I was making that show the must-see show in WWE. And still am to this day. That's where it all came from."

Miz is set to compete in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament Monday on Raw when he faces Baron Corbin.
