The Miz has removed himself from the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match this weekend.
On the episode of Raw prior to the WWE Elimination Chamber 2021 event, a major change was made to the WWE Raw Main Event of the show as The Miz, one of the scheduled participants in the WWE Championship match removed himself from the Elimination Chamber on the grounds that he already has a guaranteed Championship opportunity via the Money in the Bank briefcase.
The episode of Raw opened up with Drew McIntyre as a guest on Miz TV and when the WWE Champion got frustrated with the number of interruptions coming from The Miz, he attacked the former WWE Champion and threw his briefcase.

Following this, The Miz would reference the verbal confrontation he had on February 8 with Edge where the 2021 Royal Rumble winner accused The Miz of not being strategic with his opportunities.
In an effort to prove to everyone that he is a strategist, The Miz removed himself from the WWE championship match on February 21 and promised to be standing tall as a champion when he chose to finally cash in the briefcase.

Later in the evening, The Miz told WWE official Adam Pearce that he wanted John Morrison, his tag team partner, to replace him. Later, Kofi Kingston would suggest that he be the replacement because he has been a former WWE Champion and that was a prerequisite for all of the competitors in the match.
To determine the replacement, The Miz and Kofi Kingston would face off in a match and Kofi Kingston got the win, solidifying his place in the WWE Championship match on Sunday.
