MJF is a student of the game.
Many fans have praised Triple H for changing certain aspects of WWE creative since he took over creative duties at the end of July following Vince McMahon's retirement. Triple H has delivered more surprises, given freedom on promos, and made minor changes to the production and production.
MJF has made it no secret that he's going to listen to WWE's offer when his AEW contract expires in January 2024.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, MJF was asked if he agrees with fans that WWE's product has been better under Triple H.
"It's kind of a wild statement. I think it's better, and it's really good, our product is also better. To say that kind of spits on the legacy of what VKM created. To say 'infinitely better,' from what time period are we referring to?" wondered MJF.
Helwani clarified that he was comparing Vince's final months, not his entire body of work, to Triple H's first months.
MJF replied, "Sure, I do think it's great."
Elsewhere in the interview, MJF commented on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated 500, believing they correctly picked Roman Reigns as #1 for 2022.
"Yeah, he's a stud. We the ones. He's a stud. Who is not a fan?" he asked.
When asked if he watches WWE, MJF replied, "Yes. Just because wrestlers are in a different company doesn't mean they can't watch another product. If you're not watching it means you're not a student of the game and you should be ashamed of yourself. I watch everything. I watch what's going on right now. I watch stuff from all the way back in the past. I watch World Class, Mid-South, AWA. How the hell are you going to be the best version of yourself if you don't study your craft? Whoever has made eye contact with you and has proclaimed, 'I don't watch it.' If they're telling the truth, they're an idiot and if they're lying they're an idiot because they are just trying to look cool and they don't look cool to me, they look very stupid for not studying."
