Multiple New Champions Crowned At ROH 16th Anniversary, Kenny Omega Appears

ROH's 16th Anniversary saw a title change during the event's six man tag team match.

The Bullet Club combination of the Hung Bucks -- perhaps better known as the Young Bucks and Adam "Hangman" Page lost the Ring Of Honor Six-Man Tag Team Championships to the trio of SoCal Uncensored. The team, consisting of Scorpio Sky, Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels, defeated the Hung Bucks when Matt Jackson was put in a Boston Crab on one end, and had a kendo stick pulled across his throat on the other. His teammates were restrained and he was forced to submit.

This is SoCal Uncensored's first run with the championships, although the duo of Kazarian and Christopher Daniels have held tag team titles multiple times across several promotions. The Hung Bucks had originally won the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships back at War of the Worlds UK in August of 2017.

The reign of the Hung Bucks goes down as the most successful in the short history of the titles. Not only was it the longest tenure of any set of champions at 198 days, but they also successfully defended the title 8 times, more than any other team in history.

They were far from the only Bullet Club members on the show. Cody was able to defeat Matt Taven, but was confronted by Kenny Omega after the match, who was dressed in a Barry the Bear costume. Omega cracked Cody with a V-Trigger, only to be kissed by Cody's wife, Brandi.

The ROH Tag Team Championships also changed hands, as the Briscoe Brothers continued to make history with their record-setting ninth title win. They defeated the Motor City Machineguns with a Doomsday Device in the co-main event of the show. The Briscoes won their first sets of ROH titles way back in 2003, and their most recent reign ended in 2013. The two also will look to extend their record 40 title defenses.

Going into this, Briscoes had lost ten consecutive ROH Tag Team Championship matches, although they had held six-man tag titles in ROH and NJPW as well as the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships as well.
